Mr. Coppins has also served as an arbitrator through private retention. He is a member of the Florida Circuit Civil Mediators Society and the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. | Education: | Mr. Coppins received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, with distinction, in 1970. Following graduation, he served as a surface warfare officer in the United States Navy, on ships in the Atlantic and Pacific fleets. Mr. Coppins attained his J.D. degree from Florida State University, with Honors, and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1977. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a judicial law clerk, and also worked in the Florida Legislature and the Florida Department of Banking and Finance. |
| Community Service: | During his career, Mr. Coppins has served as a board member and President of the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club, a fund raiser for United Way, a board member and officer of the Tallahassee Bar Association, a co-chair of the Second Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, and a member of local and national professional organizations. |
